COLLEGE.DEV CHILD SAFETY STANDARDS

Updated on: FEBRUARY 20, 2025

College.dev is a brand and platform operated by Wonksknow Technologies India Private Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of India, with its registered office at C 107, Vaishnavi Gardenia, BBMP no 2208, SM road, T. Dasarahalli, Bangalore - 560057 and corporate identification number U74999KA2017FTC105947 (“College.dev,” the “Organizer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

At College.dev, the safety and well-being of all our users, especially minors, is a top priority. While our platform primarily serves college students, we recognize the importance of maintaining a safe environment for everyone. We are committed to preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.

Our Stance on CSAE

College.dev has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation. We strictly prohibit any content or activity that endangers children.

PREVENTION MEASURES

We employ the following measures to prevent CSAE on our platform:

  • **Student Verification:** College.dev primarily serves college students and early-career users but may operate specific educational Events that are open to middle-school and high-school participants. Access granted to minors is limited to the relevant Event features and is subject to parent or legal guardian registration and consent. Access to social engagement features (such as chat and posting) is granted only to users who are either invited by their college or whose student status is verified by the college administration. This controlled access model helps ensure that our community consists of verified college students.
  • **Events Involving Minors:** When an Event includes participants under 18:
    • registration and required consent must be completed by a parent or legal guardian;
    • official communications with minors will take place through moderated Event channels, the College.dev platform or the parent or guardian's contact details;
    • adult participants, mentors, judges, volunteers and organizers must not solicit unnecessary personal information from minors, initiate sexual or romantic communications, arrange private off-platform meetings or encourage minors to conceal communications from a parent or guardian;
    • one-to-one communications between an adult and a minor should be avoided and, where reasonably necessary for support, should take place through approved channels with the parent, guardian or another authorized adult included;
    • minors must not be directed to use third-party services for which they do not meet the minimum-age requirements; and
    • safety concerns may be reported to support@college.dev and will be reviewed promptly.
  • **Identity-Linked Posts:** All user posts on our platform are linked to their college-registered email address. This transparency discourages inappropriate behavior, as users are aware that their posts are associated with their identity within their college community. College administrators have access to view student posts and can block any inappropriate content.
  • **Automated Reporting and Review:** Our platform features a "report post" mechanism. When a post is reported by more than two users, it is automatically hidden from public view pending review. Designated personnel from the respective college then review the reported post and determine whether it should be unblocked or permanently removed.
  • **Community Guidelines:** Our Community Guidelines clearly outline acceptable behavior on the platform, explicitly prohibiting any form of child endangerment or exploitation. These guidelines are readily accessible to all users.
  • **Education and Awareness:** We strive to educate our users about online safety and responsible behavior through in-app tips and resources.

RESPONSE PROCEDURES

In the event of a reported incident of CSAE:

  • **Immediate Removal:** Any content depicting or promoting CSAE will be immediately removed.
  • **Account Suspension:** Users found to be involved in CSAE will have their accounts permanently suspended.
  • **Law Enforcement Reporting:** We will cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies and report any suspected cases of CSAE to the appropriate authorities.
  • **Internal Investigation:** We will conduct a thorough internal investigation to understand the circumstances and prevent future occurrences.
  • **Education and Awareness:** We strive to educate our users about online safety and responsible behavior through in-app tips and resources.

COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS

College.dev is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations related to child safety, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other relevant legislation.
